Can I let a tenant off an accrued late payment charge?
Yes — 'Waive this charge' forgives whatever has accrued for the current cycle without switching the charge off for future months.
The accrued-charge banner on the tenancy has a Waive this charge button. It forgives the amount currently accrued for that billing cycle only — the charge stays configured and starts accruing again as normal on any future late payment.
Tenarize keeps showing the real accrued figure alongside the waiver rather than resetting it to zero, so your own record reads 'accrued but waived' and you can see what you forgave. Your tenant is refused if they try to pay it. The waiver is written to the tenancy audit trail.
Worth knowing: The waiver applies to one cycle. It doesn't carry into next month — a fresh cycle simply isn't covered by it.
