Can I get a rent statement for my accountant?
Yes — a rent report for any property or the whole portfolio over any date range, as a PDF or a CSV, with UK tax year presets built in.
The Payments page has a rent report card. Pick a property or the whole portfolio, pick a date range, and choose PDF or CSV.
- Presets cover this and last month, this and last calendar year, and this and last UK tax year (6 April to 5 April), with the actual dates shown in the label so you can see what you're about to export.
- The PDF shows collected totals, payment and late counts, and an itemised table with late rows highlighted.
- The CSV is machine-readable for importing into accounting software, with ISO dates and plain decimal amounts.
The CSV carries both date initiated and date paid for every payment, deliberately. Which one is right depends on whether your accountant works on the cash basis or the accruals basis, and a Bacs payment started on 2 April but settled on 9 April falls on different sides of the tax year end depending on the answer.
Worth knowing: The equivalent for money going out is the maintenance expense report.
