A rent payment failed. What happens?
Both you and your tenant are emailed, the month reopens as unpaid, and if it was an auto-pay attempt a retry is scheduled automatically four days later.
A failure is never silent.
- You and your tenant are both emailed as soon as Stripe reports it.
- The month goes back to unpaid, so it reappears in the arrears view and can be charged again.
- If it was an auto-pay attempt, a retry is scheduled four days out — which is precisely the window in which your tenant can fix a stale mandate using Change bank details.
If the tenant's bank cancels the mandate entirely, Tenarize is told by Stripe and clears the saved payment method and switches auto-pay off straight away, rather than waiting a month to find out at the next charge.
