How long does a rent payment take to arrive?
Up to 7 business days to confirm the first payment on a new mandate, around 4 after that — a payment showing as pending is normal, not broken.
Bacs Direct Debit is not instant. Stripe confirms success or failure in up to 7 business days when a mandate has just been collected, and around 4 business days once the mandate is already active. Payout to your bank then follows Stripe's own schedule.
During that window the payment shows as Processing, and Tenarize treats the month as paid so nothing double-charges and no arrears entry appears. A notice on the tenancy page reminds you of the timing whenever a tenant has a mandate linked.
Worth knowing: A brand-new mandate also needs 2–3 business days to be lodged with the tenant's bank. A collection attempted inside that window can fail against a mandate that is otherwise perfectly good.
