Does Tenarize help with Making Tax Digital for Income Tax?
It gives you CSV exports of rent and expenses, which count as a valid digital link — a downloaded CSV means nobody re-keys the figures by hand.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax is already live, mandated from 6 April 2026 for qualifying income over £50,000, dropping to £30,000 in April 2027 and £20,000 in April 2028. Qualifying income is gross rent before expenses, so four properties at around £1,100 a month already crosses the first threshold — that's well inside the Starter tier.
MTD's requirement is that figures aren't re-keyed by hand, not that they travel over an API. A downloaded CSV imported into your accounting software is a valid digital link. Tenarize gives you both sides: a rent report CSV for income and a maintenance expense CSV for costs, both with UK tax year presets.
Worth knowing: There's no direct integration with Xero, FreeAgent or QuickBooks yet. The CSV route is deliberately the first step rather than a placeholder for one.
