Can I look around before putting real tenant data in?
Yes — nothing forces you to add a real tenancy, and you can add a property, walk the checklists and delete it again without any of it touching a tenant.
You can add a property and start a tenancy against a placeholder tenant to see the whole workflow. Nothing is sent to anyone until you explicitly invite a tenant or send an agreement for signature — both are deliberate button presses, not side effects.
A tenancy can be deleted while it is still at the Vetting stage, so an exploratory one is easy to clear up afterwards. See deleting a property or tenancy.
Worth knowing: Don't use a real person's details as a placeholder. Once a tenancy leaves Vetting it can no longer be deleted until it has ended, and their data is then part of a compliance record you're expected to keep.
