What is the room-by-room walkthrough tool?

A phone-friendly tool for building an inventory or inspection room by room — add rooms, photos and notes, and it generates the report PDF at the end.

Rather than producing an inventory in some other app and uploading it, you can walk the property with your phone and build it as you go. The walkthrough screen is deliberately full-screen with no sidebar, so it's usable one-handed.

  1. Add a room, write notes on its condition, and add up to eight photos — the photo picker opens the camera directly on a phone.
  2. Repeat for each room. You can stop and resume later; nothing is finalised until you finish.
  3. Press Finish and Tenarize generates a report PDF, attaches it to the right checklist item, and — for a move-in or check-out inventory — sends it to you and your tenant for e-signature.

It works for three things: the move-in inventory, the check-out inventory, and a periodic inspection. A check-out walkthrough automatically pulls in the move-in report as a baseline and shows matched rooms side by side, before and after.

Worth knowing: The manual route still exists everywhere the walkthrough does — if you'd rather upload one flat document, nothing stops you. The walkthrough is offered alongside it, never instead of it.

Not legal advice

These answers describe how Tenarize works and summarise the law in England as the product implements it. They are not legal advice about your situation, and the law changes. For free independent help, Citizens Advice and Shelter both cover renting in England; for anything unusual or contested, take advice from a solicitor.

Tenarize does not currently support Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, whose tenancy regimes are different.
