How do I replace a certificate that's expired mid-tenancy?

You don't need to wait for a renewal or start anything new. Upload the replacement against the same item from the property page or the tenancy's compliance checklist at any point.
The previous document is archived, not deleted — it's marked as superseded and stays visible under document history. That matters: if you're ever asked to show the property had a valid gas certificate in a particular month, you need the old one as much as the current one.
