Can I see when the gas safety check has been booked?
Yes — a safety check your landlord books appears in your Maintenance list marked "Safety check", with the engineer's name and whether it's open, assigned or done.
Gas safety and electrical checks are your landlord's legal duty, and someone qualified has to come to the property to carry them out. When your landlord books one through Tenarize it appears in the Maintenance section of your tenancy page alongside anything you've reported, labelled Safety check.
You'll see which engineer or contractor has been assigned and the current status — Open, Assigned or Resolved. You're not asked to do anything with it; it's there so you can see the check has actually been arranged.
Worth knowing: It appears because the certificate covers the whole property, so it isn't raised against your tenancy specifically. As with anything else on that list, what the work cost and any invoice stay private to your landlord.
Your landlord should give you a copy of the new gas safety certificate within 28 days of the check. Once they upload it, it appears under Your documents.
