How do I know if my rent is due or overdue?
Your tenancy page tells you: when rent is next due, whether it's overdue and by how many days, and whether a payment you've already made is still clearing.
The rent card on your tenancy page shows where you are in the current month, whichever of these applies:
- Due — the amount and the date it's due, counting down the days.
- Overdue — the amount, the date it was due, and how many days ago that was.
- Paid — nothing outstanding for this month.
- Received — you've paid and it's still clearing. Direct Debit takes a few days; there's nothing more for you to do.
Your rent due day is also shown on the tenancy itself, so you can see it before anything is owed.
Worth knowing: This is the same view your landlord has of the month. If you think it's wrong, say so early — it's usually a payment that hasn't cleared yet, or a due day set to the wrong date.
