Do I get emailed, or do I have to check the app?
Both — compliance and move-in items email you as soon as they're raised, rent and agreement events have their own emails, and a Monday digest catches the rest.
- Immediately by email — the first time a compliance- or move-in-flavoured notification is raised: an expiring document, a missing licence, deposit protection due, a supplier certification lapsing, a right-to-rent follow-up, an inventory awaiting signature.
- Their own dedicated emails — every rent, auto-pay, agreement, inventory and subscription event.
- A weekly digest — Monday mornings, covering everything still outstanding. If you have nothing outstanding, no email is sent; there is no 'all clear' message.
Worth knowing: The digest covers everything still on file, not just what you haven't clicked. Glancing at a notification isn't the same as dealing with it, and the digest deliberately doesn't treat it as such.

Not legal advice
These answers describe how Tenarize works and summarise the law in England as the product implements it. They are not legal advice about your situation, and the law changes. For free independent help, Citizens Advice and Shelter both cover renting in England; for anything unusual or contested, take advice from a solicitor.
Tenarize does not currently support Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland, whose tenancy regimes are different.
